Jolan,
another good collection. by the way,the land/net thing is more common than you may think. it's a fishing (angling) term. the fish is yours when it is landed or safely in the landing net. land/net the fish and you can claim to have caught it. both words mean the fish has been properly "caught" and you can go home and boast about how big it was.

Brill Terry! In my opinion, it takes a very good solver to get"estrangement" from "cold" (no letters). Thanks for the angling info. Proves one can still learn (even as I've reached the "doddery" days!! LOL). Many thanks to all who've had a go. Happy New Year, once more.
