De Hoya is good but surely his full name is as you said De La Hoya. Does Dahlia mean anything ?

Dahlia was a champion racehorse in the 70's. a filly who regularly beat allcomers,especially stallions,which was unusual. she was so good that races were named after her. Here's what clinches it for me- she was chestnut, not black.
