...and finally...

Last one which has me stumped... 5d) Demonstrate, nothing less, one cutting instrument as battleaxe (8). I have so far _ I _ H _ I _ E. I can make FISHWIFE, which I recall Basil Fawlty refer to Syb-ill as, and that referred to he being an old battleaxe, but, the rest doesn't quite fit.

Any help would be much appreciated (as always).
