1. Cuffties fits the clue well. But handcuffs used in sex games aren't particularly Xmassy. And I thought is 4,3 rather than 7 letters. Bur you've got to larf, could be right.

Hi Joker,
Yes, you're right. Meant to say Cufftie.

the stable one surely refers to "nativity scene". Could it be "crib scene". a bit iffy.

'cufftie' is ingenious but as you say not particularly Christmassy.
Like your 'scene' for the 'stable picture', but not sure how near 'crib' is for 'figures adding up'..... but thanks for the effort
We thought of 'tots' for 'adding up' but didn't much like the whole phrase of 'tots scene'.... so still puzzling...

Here's a tenuous one for 4) - Sledge.

It's a runner & in US some scout groups have a Klondike Derby which involves usings sleds (US version of the word).

Had tried to think of hat for Derby & beans etc. for runner but couldn't connect.

Thank you for suggestions:
- we like 'sledge' with the explanation, which we didn't know anything about
- yes, we'd thought of 'cream', but we're not sure how 'generous use-by date' applies..... but thanks for confirming our maybe idea.
