ATA = voluntary pilot corps + female - hen

a TA might be "a" (T)erritorial (A)rmy

sorry Suki, i was not being rude or presumptious but the word volunteer does crop up frequently, often giving the letters TA.
I only pointed this out for future clues that Lindsey may encounter.
