55 Incautious journalist not so taken with governor (8). _E_D_E_S. LEADLESS just about constructs but requires the definition to be "Incautious journalist", which seems ungrammatical. HEEDLESS and HEADLESS dont, as far as I can see, construct. What am I missing?

Heedless, I think - he-ed gives you a male journalist, and it does mean incautious.

Thanks AJT - but surely on that basis HE ED equates to "journalist" and LESS to "not so", making "taken with governor" redundant?
