No.19 Pal + Mates (best friends) around (C)lose= PLACEMATS.

Lizzy I am not quite clear about your explanation of Best FriendS. I assume Best friend = Pal; round the Close = C; Close = mates; Anagram =PALCMATES = placemats Sorry to be so pedantic but there have been so many variations on this answer This seems to be the best. You came up with it a bit earlier Thanks All finished and done ! I assume that numerous references to DOG =Pal
