This one was my bete noir. I was held up for a while because I had the wrong letter at the end of 25 ac. I write this as a warning. And I still can't see his wordplay for 25ac.

Thanks, AJT, I've got it now - didn't seem a known phrase, but it's in Chambers. I'm away to play with 25 A. now.

Have got 25A - and thanks, to Chambers, it's logical, easily explicable etc.(definition is 'grass,sedge or rush')
