Stock golf-clubs needed for the first course (4,6).

- A - - / - P - O - S
I'm thinking this is - - - - SPOONS but I don't really get the clue and I thought at first of SOUP SPOONS but it can't be that anyway with the A in the first word from:

A bar put back on quarter deck (5)
I have ABAFT

Could it be SALT SPOONS? Though I don't know why.

I think that "A bar put back on quarter deck" should be "ADORN".

- A (ROD reversed) N(orth), deck=adorn

Aha! A completely different type of deck! ADORN gives me an O for SOUP. Thanks to all for your help and brilliance.

I have a few more where I am stuck and will probably need to come back shortly with more.

All done now. Thanks again. That broke the logjam and after that everything seemed to work out fairly easily. Happy to see the back of that one!
