How nice to hear from you, rossim, although we’re not supposed to do this! I was planning to come here anyway but this is a bonus. The sky is perfectly clear and the island astronomy club is meeting at the site of the first scientific observation of a solar eclipse by Europeans in North America, when the Brits, who occupied our island during the Revolution, allowed a team from Harvard to land here and set up astronomical equipment. They had determined that this would be the perfect spot for observation. Isn’t that nifty?
