Good evening troops.

Remarkably I have solved 12 clues (with lots of checks) and have now become stuck.


The NE and SW corners have broken me.

Could someone please advise on how to interpret the clues?

25a a straight forward double definition
7d a composer you almost certainly won’t of heard of, but hidden in reverse in the clue

Is the 1st definition an American Uni (25a)?

Yes

Sorry, it’s an American university minus the last letter (“short”). Then the definition is “tree or shrub”.
I was replying from memory, never a good idea.
