baby.

A grandbaby is a young grandchild. It's in the dictionary. And of course a babypiano is what it says it is- a small one.

The Joker,
I agree that grandbaby is an awful word but it would seem to be a real one. So it fits the clue OK; grand-baby-piano.
I thought the phrase was "upright-grand" not "grand-upright". If you are right then your answer is much better than mine. But are you? I don't know.

I was not thinking along musical lines, but being ever so slightly vulgar.
I would have expected some retort from you,of all people. How I have misjudged you,or perhaps you have been born again on some Damascan journey to the pub.

Sorry Joker,
Your slightly vulgar suggestion is too subtle for me.
I sign this pen in hand, erect of course.

p.s. I am not even sure now that "baby-piano" is OK.

I think that a baby piano is a child's toy,so you may well be correct here.
I think I have seen my suggestion used on the many adverts (unsolicited,of course)from pharmaceutical companies, urging me to purchase the cheapest ever Viagara on the market.
