6d. One close to Macmillan and Eden originally.
I have "In the first place".
I can see the link to the garden of eden, but can someone explain the connection with Macmillan?

Both Eden and Macmillan were prime ministers in the 50s.

Hi Wombat,

As you may remember, Eden [Sir Anthony]was a prime minister too. I think that the words 'Prime' and 'First' are interchangeable so 'In the first place' would indicate that, in each case' they were in the first place - of HM Government - but it's also a clever pun on 'Eden'.

Regards,
