Hi, Lizzie - I'm not sure whether you got your third one yet ("Low seat, etc.) but just in case you haven't - think of the two words before the word "appropriately" then think of a popular sport!
Hoping this helps!

Hi dougglos, could you tell me the answer please?
Lizzie seems OK with answers, rather than hints.
I know diddly-squat about sport.

The answer is cracket - this was used by a miner ro rest his head and shoulders whilst working lying down. They were made from spare bits of wood such as pit props (hence beginning of appropriately. It was also a name given to a 3-legged stool.

Belling I think the answer could be cricket or were you giving a hint The Chambers dictionary gives the exact definition cricket 3 ie a low stool

Thank You Belling.
Where does sport come into it(and the word pit)?
Also I don't understand when you say "(hence beginning of appropriately".

MD - have just looked in dictionary and yes a small stool is also named as a Cricket. Cracket is a Geordie name for a 3-legged small stool so maybe either answers are correct.
