Surprised to be starting this thread on Monday.
Nice puzzle, tough clues though, always harder when entries are non-words.
Finished all thematic stuff, got message.
Two blank cells left, the unchecked ones in 15d and 29d. Would be nice to understand those. Thanks.

29d 'Preposterous' (on its head?) entry can be read in the clue after the extra word is removed.

For the full answer the def is 'square columns.'

Thanks both. I am NOT kicking myself over those two!
One preposterous in every way, and the other featuring two pairs of synonyms totally unknown to me, but yes, confirmed in Chambers.

The theme was wholly new to me and I confess that I will not be pursuing it further. What can one say? “Prolific”?

I’m struggling to resolve a checked letter. 11a ends with “i” but 4d has “c” in that position. Which one have I got wrong?

11a's "I" belongs in the perimeter

Rather sneaky of the princess to be removed from the clue yet somehow appear in the middle of the answer.
