I have finished this epic and must say that the anagram for one of the two downward long ones (Workers etc.)was particularly brilliant. But I still cannot totally see two of the solutions! These rwo intersect and ome of them is 51D :- "Girl's name entered in festival". I have "ENID" as the answer - is "EID" the Muslim name for a festival, by any chance? The other clue is 53A "Ark Royal, say, with particular responsibility for messenger" It is 7 & 6 and I would say that it's obviously "CARRIER PIGEON" but I am having trouble equating "particular responsibility" with "PIGEON". Can someone perhaps enlighten me?

There are actually two Muslim festivals starting with the word eid:- Eid al-Adha and Eiid al-Fitr - obviously Eid means festival. This is frm Chambers.

If we have a particular responsibility for something - a particluar job, say - we say "That's my pigeon"

OK?
