Not sure how this answer works, unless I have done my usual trick of getting a letter wrong.
8 dn Sham about Troy deing in the money. 8 letters
I have pretense. I can see the sham and pense. I'm left with T R & E Is this an abbreviation of Troy. I would appreciate anyone's help

It is pretence...about (RE) (T)roy being in the money Pence...sham = pretence
