On the whole quite easy, though I was stumped by 5d and 15a as had neve heard of either.

11a znd 20a are the rhyming pair according to my answers. Good morning. Agree fairly straightforward. No Spooner. Agree on 5d as well, not so common.

15a is the capital of a north african country

Lord knows where Everyone stumbled across 5D! Never heard of it and it resulted in my first DNF in ages. Had to look up 14D too (and the 'Tom's wife' part of the clue is pretty obscure!).
Also, can anyone explain how 20A works? I understand the Firth part, but how on earth does Peter fit in the answer?
All in all, can only presume that Everyman's managed to escape the rain and is enjoying a few Sangrias on the beach.

Straightforward I thought. There have been comments that Everyman was getting more difficult so I think he may have dialled back the difficulty level a little for this one. Didn’t count the number of anagrams but it felt like a lot.

“Tom’s wife” seems a little obscure given the number of Toms in the world (that’s assuming it’s the literary reference I think it is).

Phil, we crossed, but agree re 14d. Peter in 20a equates to the first word of the solution. I thought that clue was rather clever.

I'd never heard of 21d! Although it can only be one thing ....

Re 14d - why is the first letter of the solution = “hug”?
