4d Bodies brought up in this part of Greece (5). I have S-m-s and can only think of Samos but can't parse it?

Hi Bassett,

Samos is right, and if you reverse it/'brought up you get a the plural of a word meaning "body".

Soma was a new one on me.

9a Calls canon corpulent (5)
Round? I can see means corpulent, but not the rest.

5d Bookmakers etc exhaled vocally right next to the action (8)
Ringside? Side sounds like sighed, but how does ring mean bookmakers etc?

Round is a triple definition.
Calls as in rounds made by a doctor or postman etc.
Chambers also defines a round as “a canon sung in unison”.
Corpulent you have.
