Possibly I don't know how to count but aren't there seven unclued thematics?

I'd noticed that. 15 down seems to be the sticking point but one possibility is an anagram of the Latin word for the general theme.

15d - In addition to being a Latin word for the general theme, it's also an informal abbreviation for what is properly a two-word example of the theme.

Pretty sure there’s a clue missing. If it were thematic, surely it would have been indicated in the preamble? Awaiting clarification from Doc via another correspondent.

I have finished this puzzle and have seven thematic (not six as stated in the preamble).

Jazzgirl - I have too, assuming that the missing clue at 15 down is intended to be thematic, and not just missing! In which case there are 4 alternatives.

Sorry Jazzgirl. My post was perhaps unclear. There is a misprint of some sort in the puzzle. It may be that the number of thematic words should be 7 rather than 6. It may also be that a normal clue for 15D has been simply omitted. Wouldn’t be the first time!
