Finished apart from 42a:

Sally’s grabbing Penny’s white-tipped flower parts? (6)

The letters I have (and I don’t think any of them are wrong) are - A - I - S.

All help gratefully received!

I'm left with two 4-letter words, and these are:-
52 Down - "Collide momentarily with runners when cycling" (-I-S)
36 Across - "Have sudden inspiration?" (-A-P)

52 Kiss, collide momentarily (in snooker, say). Skis are the 'runners', cycle = move letters.

36 Gasp

Glad we could help, rocketman. I'm always quick if I've already done the puzzle... and can remember the answer!

34a Electricity generator in Post Office nicked by subversive group (9)
Photocell? That doesn't seem to really fit the parsing, I can't see any indication that the 'nicked' (hot) should be contained inside the Post Office (PO). According to my reading of the construction it should be Pohotcell, which obviously makes no sense.

6a Robust hunter nasty about fox initially needing rest (4,6)
w?l? s?i?e?

16a Enchantress keeps sum for conversion with pirate bound (12)
C?r?u?s?r?b?

Good point re 34a, strangelybrown. I must admit I hadn't noticed that!

6a Robust hunter nasty about fox initially needing rest (4,6)
w?l? s?i?e?
WOLF SPIDER (= robust hunter. No, me neither,) Nasty about = WOL (LOW reversed). Fox initially = F (first letter of fox). Spider = rest (as in a rest for a snooker cue).

16a Enchantress keeps sum for conversion with pirate bound (12)
CIRCUMSCRIBE. Enchantress = CIRCE (as in The Odyssey). Sum for conversion = UMS (anagram of SUM). Pirate = CRIB (as in copy or steal).
Thus: CIRC(UMS)(CRIB)E.

Hope this helps!
