I can nearly but not quite parse these.

If boy is 's' in 'resit' (further exam) then how is 'ant' accounted for?

8d Extended Great Hall's entrance in outskirts of large city (7)
Lengthy?

31 Stan, boy, in Resit?

8d LE is outskirts of large, GT is great, H is Hall’s entrance, NY (New York) is the city
