I have completed crossword but dissatisfied with
"Pay five pound for polite remark"
I have pleasantry as the answer but how does this fit with pay five pound?

Hi, Gretchen,

I cannot explain it all, but I spot that "salary" is contained as an anagram within your answer of "Pleasantry" Oh, of, course, "pent" represents five, as in Pentagon.
