Last clue remaining - 9d: "Instinctive aptness at play you'll see child, male, in." S-T-T-EP-NTS. A & F appear to be the letters extracted from the full, "defined" solution, and which go in the legend around the grid No idea what the two-word answer to that legend is either. Any offers?

Hi Martin

I tried in vain to make a version of spontaneous fit here .... seat-of-the-pants.

the answer to the peripheral clue is an anagram - don't want to make it too obvious and spoil it for you!

Brilliant! I'd never have got it. What about the two word answer to the clue in the legend around the grid?

I had an anagram in mind. I can only think it's of "clued here". Am I on the right lines?

Racked my brains & got nowhere. Must be anag. of 3 consecutive words at the end of the clue, but I can't see it at all!

So near, yet so far.....it has to be an anag. of "find what's to", "what's to undo" or "to undo clued". My brain has given up on me, I'm afraid. Put me out of my misery....
