This is a good question. The only opera by Beaumarchais I can think of that fits is TARARE. However, it looks like the clue is indicating an anagram of RAVE AT, and 14 down is VICTORIA, and adding the other checked characters gives T-V-R-.

This looks like an error to me.

5d seems to be EUSEBIAN.
