Just have 10d left - What snow ruins happening after service (4,9. It must be GOOD RECEPTION but I don't quite see why! Can anyone enlighten me! I'm sure it's blatantly obvious!

Snow is defined by Chambers Dictionary of Science & Technology as:

'Effect of electrical noise on intensity-modulation signals. The effect is random and resembles falling snow and may be seen, eg on a TV screen in the absence of a signal, or when the signal is weak.'
