This could perhaps be Yorkshireman, but that would make your 'o' wrong.

dear pianydd. i gave up on the lancelot puzzle last week, but thankyou for your answer. yorkshireman! i haven'nt heard the title used in that context before, and was stunned.why?because i'm a yorkshireman born and bred, when my town rotherham was in the old west-riding(no south yorkshire before 1974 boundary changes),so i'll bear that answer in mind for the future, should the question arise again.thankyou again, krisstoff.

ihave heard of geoffrey boycott, jim B,but it did not sink in because of my head injury( it did come to me yesterday, but through the answer searching,i had my thesaurus head on,and old geoffrey was blanked out of my mind.if a future clue came along saying"bird, say",then i'll know to think 'dickie' before sparrow or jay etc or hawk).good to see the old character's still in work though,cheery-o!,krisstoff.
