Soorry I don't have the clue as I cut the crossword out last night. Does anyone have opt out or perhaps something different which would replace the 'P' with an 'O'.

Not familiar with this crossword but reading between the lines from your earlier post (presumably trying to make lonesome fit) I wondered if it could be 'got out' rather than 'opt out'. I guess you may not know if you can't remember the clue? Perhaps another of the Daily Record posters could tell us what the clue to 14d was.

Thanks Crypto. Mission impossible without the clue really but I was 'confident' that inspiration would strike on the way to work this morning and so cut the crossword out to fit an envelope. Less hubris would help. 'Got Out' is a good alternative and memory serves of the clue, opt out is not the only option.

The clue was Avoid responsibility(3,3)and I have put cop out. Hope this helps.
