TAV? - presumably T and ava(kava) but the NZ fruit tree seems to Tawa?

Tawa- An evergreen tree native to N Zealand
Tawa- A griddle used in cookery. Alternative spellings TAVA or TAVAH.
Think you should invest the £16.!

SNOD(Scot) - adj smooth,neat,trim,snug. vt to trim,set in order(with up):pa t and pa p snodded or snoddit (poss connected with O N snothinn-bald).

Sudden WILD thought from childhood days,playing with a magnet.
I seem to recall that the bar had N at one end and S at the other, representing polarity.
Think I have my shoehorn out again!
