Well, that was a bit of an awkward blighter for someone like me who knows diddly-squat about the thematic subject and given that half of the unclueds are not in Chambers. Got there in the end after lengthy poring over lists in Wikipedia.

Well will37 you are ahead of me. I have all clued answers and all the unclued except one (two bits). I now believe that 14 A and 24A combine to make a theme word but 14A is itself a local Cornish theme word. Do you agree or can you guide me to the finishing line ? Advance thanks for any assistance

Truron, I have 14 A on its own and 24 A combining with a Down answer.

Your're right, truron, that 14A is a theme word on its own. You're also right that 24A is part of the pair mentioned in Doc's directions. The other part of the pair is 28D and together they form an answer which is in Chambers (and was the only unclued which I actually knew before starting this puzzle!)
