Stuck on 'flight of fancy' have got 'S**R*I*G'

The only solution that I can come up with is SWIRLING. What do you think?

STIRRING or SWARMING are also possible.

Agree with all of the above suggestions and adding one other ... STORYING ... which has to do with fiction (? flight of fancy ?) and also a tiny bit to do with storeys (alt. spelling story) which are connected by flights of stairs.

It's even in my spanking new Chambers Dictionary!
