Not a bad one. 1A gave it up almost immediately, but main Wiki article doesn't mention 22A & 25D.

However, 39A has me stumped. Have PINE for LONG, but can't fit in OBLIGATION.

There you go, then. Definitely NOT in Chambers. I didn't look far enough originally, though. The second entry for mallee gives it as mall.


Reading your link - I think that all serioous contributors to this forum suffer from logolepsy. That's not in Chambers either. Looking a little further on, here's a lovely word for a setter - logodaedalus

Thanks ixion. How mundane. Had TIE in there earlier, but took it out & wound up with all sorts of exotic words that didn't make sense.

Yes - 35 d very unusual spelling for the hat. 33d isn't in Chambers either
