Some tricky clues this week but favourite ones are 16a, 7a, 17d and 24a.

i particularly liked the 2nd episode of Mad Men on sunday night, the one where the redhead flaunted her behind.

I miss my umbilical cord. I grew attached to it.

Torvic - saw your earlier posting so I bought the RT just to have a go at the crossword (only previously done one RT puzzle). Enjoyed doing it, just finished but still need to understand the wordplay for 9d. I'll have another look at it when I go to bed.

Crypto, the word play for 9d is I think - Keep hitting = pepper, beyond means comes after, city is cayenne (capital of French Guiana) and hot powder is the answer.

I too finished yesterday afternoon, in about half an hour or so, but, when I came to post a comment, I noticed that Tweedledum and Tweedledee had arrived. If they want to spoil what was a popular and informative thread, then I will be notable by my absence.

Thanks Torvic re 9d - I think I got to that point but was looking for whether there was anything more subtle in it.

Good morning all.
Just back from hols in the Mediterranean. Fantastic time but great to be back in Cheshire!! Managed to catch up with the backlog of RT crosswords. Have really missed the banter and humour of the thread. Disappointed by the nature and content of most recent comments. So please, Caravaggio, don't give up on the rest of us who look forward to this RT thread.
Quite a good crossword this week. I liked 14d, 18a and 23a. Still have 19d to finish, I think it will be one of those "difficult" but essentially easy clues that will jump out at me in a couple of minutes.
Off to Tatton park to check the state of the gardens there and take in some Cheshire culture.
