8d. BLIMP seems to be right. Colonel Blimp, of course. A 'blimp' is also a term for a soundproof housing for a camera.

21d. I think this must be DANTEAN, although I hope someone could help with the wordplay beyond 'ant'=insect?

I discovered that Jonathan Swift was made Dean of St.Patcrick's, Dublin. So it's DEAN + ANT to make DANTEAN.

thanks again.
I don't think I have ever heard Azanian before.
p.s. I had "chantuer" instead of "chaunter" which was why I had a "t" at the end of Dantean.
