Well hats of to the subconscious - I am trying to narrow down the countries now to see if that help at all - will report back if I get anywhere - they tell you how many places come from each country but bit time consuming but it will drive me mad if not! lol

Jim - useful exercise but a bit long winded - discovered one I had wrong - Ben embraces band (6) - had as Berlin but cannot be as we now have Berlin elsewhere and doesnt really make sense.

Outstanding now are:

Servant with Army unit (7)

and as far as I can see we are looking for 2 places in France, 2 in Germany and 1 Mediterranean island - any thoughts much appreciated.

Jim - do you think that Servant with army unit could be Majorca? - thinking Major but not quite sure where the ca comes in unless something to do with the fact abbreviation for California??

Thinking Ben embraces band - probably Bremen - Ben and REM.
