Hi all,

have been trying to complete a fun quiz with my mates and had a reasonable success but am now stuck and wondered if there were any bright sparks out there who could help.

Have done 99 of these and have the last 11 left. They are all cryptic clues to place names in Europe - think we now left with Belgium and the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal, Italy, Austria and Med Islands.

Any help would be much appreciated as it is now distracting me far too much!

Places accomodating Bath's first feature of Rugby (9)
Serb swings back around the middle of Malta to trap American naval vessel(8)
Nasty Smell! Put French waters on road(8)
Servant with Army unit(7)
Piece of wood in ice cream (7)
Lighter Coloured army medic(7)
Zany throw out(6)
Old nurse moves back round insect(6)
Note Danish in Danish(6)
US military domain-name article(5)
The Doctors Archenemy is free of The Doctor finally(5)

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hi Simon.

The Doctors Archenemy is free of The Doctor finally(5) = DAVOS.

Davros is Dr Who's enemy; take out the last letter 'r' of 'Doctor' to give 'Davos'.

Old nurse moves back round insect(6) = NANTES. ANT(insect) inside NES('SEN' backwards; State Enrolled Nurse).

Stopping for now - time for someone else to get the others.

Simon, I only know about Davos in Switzerland as it was in the news recently while it hosted an annual business/economic forum. Must be a ski resort also, but I bet it's expensive!

I agree 100% with Brussels.

Another one popped out of the subconscious ...

Note Danish in Danish(6) = GDANSK. G(a musical note) + DANSK(danish for 'danish').
