I'm stumped by one complete corner of this crossword, so I have little to offer by way of letters.

12D Everything up in the grove to fall to earth (8) - - - - - P _ E (second letter might be O)

18A Fellows who correspond with hire purchase traders (8)
- - - - -M - N (The M and N are very suspect but I'm guessing it must be MEN)

9D Joy accompanies the vocalist (4,6) G - E - / _ _ _ _ E _
(First letter of second word could be S)

And finally,

15A Makes a pledge as drinks go round (6) _ _ _ _ S _ . If this is TOASTS it accounts for the O in 12D and the S in 9D.

Hope that is not too confusing.

Apologies - That last clue - 15A has the S in the wrong place. It should be 6 letters _ _ _ S _ _

Daniel, very aptly named, since you are an angel! I had no idea about the answers. I had thought of glee singer but what does it mean? Anyway, you've put me out of my misery. Thank you so much.

No problem

A glee is a short, unaccompanied part-song. Strictly speaking it should involve three or more voices, usually male.
