Hi nadun.

I am struggling to understand the equation you gave.

Does the '2*3/6\2' part of your equation mean '2 times 3 divided by (6 divided by 2)' or '2 times three-sixths divided by 2' or something else?

Oh sorry Nadun.

BODMAS says inter alia that multiply and divide are of equal status and you carry out each as you meet it in order; so, 2*3=6 then divide, then divide. Adding and subtracting are the lowest level and of equal status and are carried out left to right.

Hence 2*3+5=11, whilst 2*3+5*4=6+20=26
