Hi Verity.

Relative density of dog with herdsman ... DROVER(herdsman) = D(daughter) + ROVER(dog's name).

Drunken orgy mid-morning, with everyone
on the jetty ... GROYNE = GROY(anagram of 'orgy') + N(middle letter of 'morning') + E(everyone).

Thinking about it some more, I suppose that the 'd' of 'drover' could stand for relative density. The 'density' bit seems redundant otherwise.

the d could also stand for relative; as in daughter

Agree with D = daughter but think maybe density(size) refers to the dog ROVER being the greater part of the solution?

The D stands for density. When it is related to rover it produces drover.

Thanks everyone.
We all seem agreed on 'drover'.
The 'd' seems a bit of a question-mark...
I think 'relative density' could be 'd'

Thanks everyone.
We all seem agreed on 'drover'.
Perhaps 'd' is 'daughter' or 'relative density'?
