Unfortunately, I'm very Sassenach ... another clue?

I'm guessing word 1 = the
And word 2 begins ST (way)?

I see today, tonight (the night) and tomorrow have been covered elsewhere, and my search for special days in Scotland hasn't helped!

Steve, I hope my clue's not rubbish - that's a possibility!

You're right with the first word - and the rest of the answer also follows the clue in order as it is.

Well, here's the totality of my poor thinking ...

The: the
way: st
to do: act
thing: it
is: is
the navy's: RN's
rule abandoned in: word for rule (reign?) minus in

Anything remotely close?

Steve, in case this clue is more bother than it was worth...

The - in clue
MO, way tp do things
RNs - the navy's
Norm, rule

abandoned = anagram, it becomes Morn

The Morn's Morn - tomorrow morning, in the near future.

A good clue, Malone, resulting in an expression new to me, so yet another learning opportunity. Means tomorrow morning?

Well, I got The and RN's! (Yes, know MO.)

Thanks, Steve. Yes, it means 'tomorrow morning' and it's in Chambers. I used to hear it said often - not so much nowadays.
