On the other hand George Eliot could be the odd one out. She is the only woman in the list, real name was Mary Ann Evans.

No.1 On the other other hand it could be Jack London as he is American and the others are English.
That,s three perfectly logical answers and there probably are more.
A pathetic quiz in my humble opinion.Don't know why I waste my time.

'Primal' is the only word in the list that does not start with two adjacent letters from the alphabet.
