I thought that but it does not indicate a plural but says 'former puveyor'???

Annie D.That thought crossed my mind also,but I cannot see what another answer could be.
Perhaps the "S" has slipped from the end of purveyors and moved to medicine!!

A further thought here - APOTHECARIAN. Not sure if this is a valid word though.
Are you sure of your second "E"?
