Down to the final six! Have been stuck on these two since 3am....keep leaving it and going away but it's bugging me-
with engineers starting, site proceeds

Nominee fits but I don't see why!

and-
what's sour when peeled? Could be a lemon!

Hi Chaz.

I think "with engineers starting, site proceeds" is REVENUE(proceeds) = RE(Royal Engineers) + VENUE(site).

Hi again.

I thnk "what's sour when peeled? Could be a lemon!" may be WASHOUT(a dud/lemon) = anagram of WHATS + OU('sour' peeled, ie outer letters removed).
