Anybody attempted yesterday's Enigmatic Variations yet? Is it harder or easier than usual? If you reckon it's a hard one I won't bother!

A lot easier than the last two or three but still enjoyable.

I have the grid completed and the originator's name. However I am ending up with two n's in his name with no f. My two n's come from 11A and 4D.
Can some-one say where I have gone wrong?
Gosh! the World Cup match has started.

Your 11a seems to be the problem.

GO (work) pursuing OF (from) = GOOF

Thanks K for your swift response.
I had goon rather than goof for 11A. Your answer is however confirmed by the preamble.
Best of luck with your entry.
Have you ever won the prize pen?
You deserve it as you always seem to be one step ahead of the rest of us.

Glad to help New Boy.

I have won the pen but submitted a lot of entries before I eventually did.
I only do the themed/ barred crosswords which generally don't have great prizes, but do them for the challenge and the enjoyment.

Cheers
