I thought that this was rather an unfair clue - pretty much impossible unless you had heard of her.
She's probably best known for the Earthsea novels.

ChrisE, I'd never heard of her, but it was such an easy (deliberately easy?) anagram that I got the name very quickly from the letters. I then had to check that she existed!

I suppose the "2" was probably LE, but both Ursula and Guin are rather unlikely names!
I think that she usually writes her name as Ursula K. LeGuin. Would (8,6) have been as easy?
