Last one. 39A (unclued)

I know the answer is KIRRIEMUIR but it doesn't fit the grid.
I have K?R?E?U?R. Does anyone know if either KIRREMUIR or KIRIEMUIR is an acceptable alternative spelling?

The festival and place is Kirriemuir as you say. I was left with it and have left it blank for now.

Ha, ha! Probably. The anagram at 30D - RIG CONKERS (4,6) - had me going for a while. I couldn't work out what Nick Rogers had to do with the band.
