Would appreciate help with two clues please. Either could contain a misprint.

1a) From ratatouille naturally to the best Italian food (6)

1d) Thatched hut built by Canadian natives alongside Manitoba's eastern border (5)

1 A. Just a hidden in the clue, but the misprint is essential - it's not 'best'.

1 D. No misprint, but it gets treated thematically. The definition is a 'thatched hut', I'm unsure of the parsing.
