problem chimp

I've come to this crossword late in the month, and I'm having problems with the last clue. No one else seems of have posted this, so it must just be me!

24a Of speed that entrals one (4) B?I?

I'm thinking BAIT -BIT speed that enthrals one - A

and BAIT enthrals one - but I have serious doubts.

Any help appreciated.

Do you mean bat as a verb, as a synonym for speed along ?

Hi.

Go 'like a bat out of hell' means to go/travel quickly.

I hadn't totally worked out the anagrams, but now I see RULE from 5d become LURE in 24a.

So BAIT it is ! Thanks !
