I don't really know how to clue the other one except to say that it is an Eskimo sled,it is an anagram and it appears to be the wrong spelling(maybe i have the wrong answer - i've never heard the word before)

I thonk it is pretty likely to be correct as we both got it independently (and - the last syllable,at least - rhymes with baldrick.

As you are not 100% certai about the relating answers in the pairing perhaps you could post them on here as well, it could be very helpful for us.

Sorry yes rhyming, as the heading of this thread. For second half of 8. I have a word ending in ede but can't find anything to rhyme thus may be wrong.
17. First half possibly ends in er. 48. Not really not sure.
As only asked for clues I thought putting answers in was not appropriate. I didn't mean to be unhelpful.

without knowing the rhyming piece I am only guessing re 48. But if it is what I think it is an additional clue for the first 3 letters would be what you take as a break in uni studies and the second 3 letters would be a well known dutch bank !...of course I could be completely wrong !
