There is a game "jack-stones", so one of them would be a JACK STONE. I don't see where the ST comes from, though

Jack straw is also a person of no real significance, named after Jack Straw nickname of one of the leaders of the rebellion headed by Wat Tyler

About that jazzy. It was an inter-college race. We had a van and a team of 7 or 8 pushers, taking turns, as I remember. We started late night and arrived early in the morning.

That is amazing ! We got up to all sorts of silly pranks at college, one was hauling an old bathtub on wheels, (with one of the male students inside) collecing for charity, but we only walked a few miles.
